1. What wwu is designed to do
wwu is designed for local-first document collaboration. A host Mac opens a document room, keeps working copies locally, and lets nearby collaborators join through a browser on the same local network.
The app does not require a Localink account and does not operate a cloud document storage service for your files. If that changes in a future version, this policy and the in-app notice will be updated before that behavior is presented as part of the product.
2. Data stored on your Mac
When you import, edit, save, recover, or export documents in wwu, document content is stored on the host Mac. The app may create local working copies, autosave data, room metadata, review history, comments, AI chat history, AI connection settings, and exported files so it can provide collaboration, recovery, review, AI, and export features.
This local app data remains on the host Mac unless you share it with collaborators, export it, copy it, back it up, or choose a feature that sends selected content to a configured service.
3. Local network collaboration
wwu can create a temporary collaboration room on your Mac. Other devices on the same local network may join by using a room link, QR code, or room code that you share.
People who join may view or edit the document according to the permissions you grant. Document content, document changes, participant names, cursor positions, comments, review changes, and room status may be shared with participants in that room over the local network.
Only share a room link, QR code, or room code with people you trust. wwu cannot remove copies, screenshots, exports, or notes that other participants make outside the app.
4. AI features
wwu supports OpenAI-compatible AI endpoints. You may use a local AI endpoint, such as LM Studio running on your own Mac or local network, or you may explicitly configure an online AI provider.
If you use a local AI endpoint, selected prompts, document excerpts, and context are sent to that endpoint. You are responsible for understanding where that endpoint runs and how it handles data.
If you choose an online AI provider, the prompt, selected document content, or relevant context needed for the request may be sent to that provider for processing under that provider's terms and privacy policy. Do not send confidential, sensitive, personal, legal, medical, financial, or proprietary content to an online provider unless you are allowed to do so and understand the provider's data practices.
5. Internet access and website logs
wwu may connect to the Internet when you use online AI APIs, external services that you configure, or features requiring network communication. Normal collaboration on a local network does not require a cloud account.
When you visit the public product website, the hosting provider may process standard server log data such as IP address, browser or device information, requested URL, timestamps, and error information. This is used to deliver the website, maintain security, diagnose problems, and understand basic site reliability. The website does not use advertising trackers.
6. Payments
If you purchase wwu through the Mac App Store, Apple processes the payment. The developer does not receive your credit card number or full payment details from Apple.
7. Support information
If you contact the developer for support, the developer may receive your email address, name, screenshots, logs, sample files, or other information you choose to send. Please avoid sending sensitive document content unless it is necessary for support.
Support information is used to answer your request, diagnose issues, improve the product, and maintain a record of the support exchange.
8. Data retention and deletion
Local document rooms, working copies, exports, AI settings, and app preferences remain on your Mac until you delete them, clear app data, or remove the app and its local data. Exported files remain wherever you save or share them.
You may request deletion of support records that you sent to the developer by contacting support. The developer cannot delete data stored only on your devices, data copied by collaborators, or data already processed by an online AI provider you chose.
9. App permissions
wwu may ask for local network access so other devices on the same network can join shared document rooms. The app may also use files you choose through drag-and-drop, file picker, import, or export actions.
wwu does not require camera, microphone, location, contacts, or advertising-tracking permission for its current document collaboration features.
10. No advertising tracking or sale of data
wwu does not use your documents for advertising, sell your personal information, or track you across apps or websites for advertising purposes.
wwu is not directed to children under 13.
11. Your responsibility
You control what documents you import, who you invite to a room, and whether you use local AI or online AI APIs. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share document content with collaborators or AI providers.
12. Changes and contact
This notice may be updated when wwu changes. If important data-handling behavior changes, the notice will be updated in the app or through this product site.
